Fiery
She stood before a precipice
Craving fiercely she was somewhere else.
Or anyone else.
She suspended a culture in her mind
Unlike her own
Spun bright and colorful
Slightly cognizant of her surroundings
The girl danced in her daydreams
To a rich, foreign beat
Girls danced around her
With dark, jeweled eyes
They spun in skirts
The drum beat louder and louder
The girl was mesmerized
Til the time she surfaced to her own reality.
