Nostalgia
Her small feet treaded,
On the padded pavement of the playground,
The rough hand of her grandfather
Supporting her,
The jungle gym towered over the little girl,
Birds chirped as bread was thrown their way,
She would sit with her grandfather,
On the bright benches,
Listening as he unraveled stories of his youth.
That was fifteen years ago,
The same girl strolls down the abandoned playground,
Wind tears apart the shriveled trees,
Towering over the jungle gym,
She hears here grandfather's stories echo through the bustling leaves,
He's gone,
Like her childhood.
