Couldn't Journey On
The door behind me closed
The one ahead of me had a brass doorknob
I dubiously wrapped my hand around it
Feelings of comfort, confidence, and triumph left me
Feelings of discomfort, self-conciousness, and failure
Replaced it
I let go
As if I had stuck my fingers in an electrical socket
I was too apprehensive about the future
It would get me nowhere in life
But I could not journey on
To be truthful, my journey never started
No go, do the things I was too afraid to do
Before you become like me
