Concealed
My plaster smile stretches too far;
Can you see
The emotions
I keep hidden behind?
My eyes are covered with a hazy film of happiness,
But can you find the hurt
I bury beneath?
I remain where I am,
But can you sense the overwhelming
Longing
Bottled up inside?
I feel broken, scattered;
Can you figure out a way
To piece me back together?
Don’t blame yourself;
I’ll only further join the masquerade.
Don’t worry about me,
Because you know then I’ll only pull
My plaster smile
Tighter
Over my frown.
