fluorescence
there were stars inside the swimming pool
and there were crystals in my palms
we bathed beneath the neon lights
bodies moving like atom bombs
our tongues dripped with liquid gold
your eyes mirrored the moon
the air smelt like a cigarette’s smoke
but how we loved that urban lagoon
passion tastes like vodka
desire is a fluorescent light
and though the morning eventually came
we lived a forever in that night
