New Year, New Me
Here comes another year, 2014
Supposed to be “a new year, a new me”
This is what most people say
But I don’t look at it that way
I feel like it’s another excuse
To start over and let loose
Find the new year as a year older, wiser
Hope to become a licensed driver
Procrastination is my Achilles’ heel
Need to find treatment like for real
See the year as a way to correct mistakes
As the near future for me is somewhat opaque
I’m like a diamond in the rough
Just need to grow and be tough
Want to enjoy my last year of high school
Usually the second semester is very cool
Want to win a championship with my baseball buddies
And also have a job to earn a little bit of money
Then walk across the stage with diploma in hand
With my fellow seniors, according to plan
This is what I hope in the year of 2014
I think this is my “new year, new me”
