I Choose The Fire
I chose the fire
The bringer of life
And the ruler of death
That crackles higher
Consuming all in its way
Yes, I choose the fire.
I am close to hatred-
Inches, perhaps-
The shaking fury
(Confusion?)
And the blazing irrational
Coldness that fills my lungs
And is exhaled in a single scream
Rising and falling
Like a siren
Echoing my rage
Words?
They are nothing,
Mean nothing
When I am the one talking.
It is all about the action,
With me anyway,
All the little things
You would never notice.
It is about the silence, not the spoken
With me anyway.
And the fading envy,
That'll never truly be gone
Takes over and
I lunge
To fall again
To the darkness of day and
The burning of night
Burning brighter with memories
Of a long ago plight
Of the days I would
Walk through he fire
Instead of watching from
Afar
