Southern Bell
Even in her darkest moments, she found ways
to smile,
ways to be happy.
She counted the stars in the September sky.
She ran around in her daisy dukes past the sprinkler as the water drizzled onto her bare legs.
She belted along to her favorite country songs while whipping her long, black ponytail from front to back.
Even when life became too much,
my southern bell still managed to ring.
