Dancing Dreams
I see you dancing there in the wheat field.
Your sand hair blows in the gentle breeze.
Your pretty eyes are too strong for me to yield.
You sway back and forth and bend your knees.
I see you dancing and I wish I could be with you.
I wish I could feel your soft hair against my cheek.
Where you are the sky is always blue.
But I know these are crazy words that I speak.
As I watch you, I wonder if this is love that I feel for you.
Or is it just a thought that is part of a dream?
Things like these are harder to find then they seem.
But still you continue to dance.
I watch as you dance to the day’s last hour.
It seems your beauty will never end.
As you stand, gazing at the sunset from the Eifel Tower.
But life will soon take a different bend.
It pains me as you walk past in the hall.
I feel as if I am hidden in the night.
It seems you are always having a ball as I trip, stumble, and fall.
I am standing here blinded by the light-
of an obsession,
a confession,
maybe even a life lesson.
But still, you continue to dance in my dreams-
I wish it could be true.
You dance where the sun always gleams and the sky is always blue.
I watch as you dance in that wheat field,
and I wish that I could share that dance.
