Jumper
I stand on the concrete ledge,
corpses and shattered steel lay below me.
It’s time to make a decision.
Jump.
I didn’t want to die this way,
Don’t want to confront my mortality.
Is this some sort of judgment day?
Jump.
Black smoke fills my mouth,
It tastes of metal and death.
There’s only one way out of here.
Jump.
We thought we were invincible,
our gleaming towers a defiant fist.
In reality it was a crucible.
Jump.
I’m sorry momma.
I love you honey.
Forgive me sweetie; but I have to
Jump.
Wind whistles through my ears,
The taste of fear sours my tongue,
I can feel my life slipping through my fingers as I
Jump.
