Dalliance
Camouflage shirt and
an awkward “How are you?”
At Dairy Queen,
he got a chocolate cone and
I got a vanilla cup
with rainbow colored gummy bears.
While we sat in his car,
one lime green bear fell
between the console and my seat.
As we talk about his ex
and mine,
we laugh and
he tickles me
until our hands intertwine.
I turn my head and see
a yellow and green striped tie,
his school colors, his daily attire.
He pokes my leg as he sings
Zac Brown Band to me.
Then holds my waist and
kisses my neck.
He caresses me
until we stop.
I leave with a tight hug and
his cologne imprinted on my chest.
