Can I sail?
I asked him if he loved me.
He smiled and said,
Of course I do.
I reached out my hand to touch him
But he withdrew into the corner.
I asked him if I could fly,
Stretch out my arms and lift off the ground.
He shook his head and said,
No, you cannot fly,
That is not possible.
I asked him if he’d hold me.
He turned and walked away.
I asked him if I could sail,
Set out on the water and explore.
He said, no there is no wind today,
Your sail would not move.
I asked him to stay home with me.
He held up a hand and walked out the door.
I asked him if he loved me.
He smiled and said,
Of course I do.
