Long Island Sound
The ocean speaks in gurgles and splashes
seducing me all the same
These colors,
The drops,
And this enticing wind are all real.
The ocean is as palpable
as Hamlet’s hit and
although the wind doesn’t poison me
I am weaker.
If I could steal the blues
right from the ocean
I would have all the colors
that I need to paint the world
anew; to begin again.
