Unstoppable

a low rumbling in the distance, an early warning
angry steam screams above shining metal
metal rails vibrate over a bed of rocks, flinging them aside
wooden boards creak under an unseen weight
wheels spin endlessly as the world around us
a long low whistle, the final warning of its approach
it charges past in a deafening roar
no matter how much
we may wish for it to
slow down
it never
will
Unstoppable.
