Why Me
She is cautious.
The elite few chosen
as companions
stand beside her.
Skimming just beneath
the radar. No one realizes
she exists.
Another day passes
As she weaves
through the swarming
halls. Courteous
hellos are echoed
time and time again.
She stops to wonder
why, but cannot answer
her own question.
Enveloped in phycological
traps, slowly shutting
herself off from the rest
of the world. Fear
of judgement looms,
ever present, threatening
to overtake her.
A moment
before she drowns,
her song
plays, rescuing her.
For a brief 3 min
she lets her guard down.
