Words From the Heart
Down in my feelings, no hope for me
Carrying a physically unbearable load
I wallow in my own pain like a pig in filth
Tormented by my thoughts
Attacked by my feelings
I am a crack in the sidewalk
Just passed by and stepped over
Not knowing how deeply I feel
But just when I felt down, there I found your hand
Extended to me to help me in my time of need
You are to me as butter is to bread, you only make me better
When I find myself looking down, your words always dance in my memory
For it was your words that lifted my head when I felt that life was over
You are my inspiration, my encouragement and my friend
You got me through my rough times now my skies are clear
My days are bright, and my spirits are high
All because you loved and encouraged me
Just as Phoebe encouraged Janie in Their Eyes Were Watching God you encouraged me
When everyone around spoke against me, you spoke for me
The word best friend could only describe you half the time
You really are my sister
