You were always there.
I never thought about the day that
I would have to imagine my life
without you in it.
It doesn’t feel real
to look around and to live my life
knowing that I will never
see your face again.
But when I see that picture of us
that memory frozen in time
when you’re standing next to me
here, where you should be
I’ll be happy because I know
that’s what you would want me to be.
