Dear Mommy
Today is the first day you felt me kick from inside you, mommy
And I wasn't trying to hurt you; I'm just sending a reminder to let you know that I'm here
And mommy, I know you love me even if daddy doesn't and your love is enough for the both of you
When he tells you to fix the problem, to get rid of me, I can feel the hate erupting from his words and I know they hurt you too because I can hear you crying yourself to sleep tonight, mommy
But wipe your tears because I'm almost here, mommy and I know that daddy's angry because I can feel the heaviness in your heart
I can feel you trying to keep it together, trying to do it on your own and I know it's all for me, mommy
And even though daddy's not around, I know you love me
Sometimes you sing to me at night when you're not too tired from working two jobs and mommy, I know it's hard but I'm almost here now
I'm ready to meet you and I know how you're wondering what I'll look like and what you'll name me and you seem so happy, mommy
Until you realize it's only you and you're on your own but as soon as I'm out of the womb it will be alright mommy
Everything will be alright because you'll love me more than you do now and your love will be stronger than anything else
And mommy, even when you struggle, you shine.. You shine so bright like the stars in the sky and you're so beautiful
Mommy, I know nobody's there to tell you but when I enter the world you'll never go a day without hearing you're beautiful, I promise you're so beautiful
And when it's hard for you to go on, I'll grab you by the hand to show you why you held on for so long and you'll tell me I was worth it, mommy
