I'm Just Me
My hair is ombre
My jeans are torn
My eyeliner is smudgy
My leather jacket is worn
My music is heavy
It’s full of loud screams
Writing and singing
Is what makes up my dreams.
I longboard in the summer
And play drums in the winter
I watch horror movies
For example, one called “Splinter”
I seem like a scary example
But that’s not true
Don’t call me “emo”
Just because I look blue.
Don’t call me “goth”
Or even “Scene”
Labeling is rude
And it’s downright mean.
Just because I may
Fit into a “clique”
Doesn’t mean you can
Make that name stick.
So don’t call me emo
That’s not who I am
I’m just another person
Stuffed into this jam.
