Winter War
I gaze longingly
out the window
watching the fat dew drops
resting lazily on a million
of my gorgeous emeralds
As the day crawls on
the dew crystallizes
and transforms into an army
encasing my glistening emeralds
sucking out their last breath
Once night has fallen
they have won
kidnapping my emeralds
leaving only empty shells behind
The next morning
I look out the window
to me that the sun
has slain the horrible beasts
and my emeralds are returning
slowly
one by one
