"The Ones We Love"
They say that the ones we love
never really leave us;
they are walk with us on the golden arches
that mark the rise of the sun,
they keep an eye on eyes
while clouds float tranquilly by,
they dance with us
like the twinkling stars that illuminate a midnight sky.
Guiding us through our lives
like a truck's headlights on a foggy highway,
taking time to admire what we've done
like the frozen icicles that observe every snowfall,
the ones we love are there;
the question is-
are we?
