Day by Day
Day by day, our life flies from us. Every second spent is a second closer to the end,
And the end is eternity, a cold desolate abyss that awaits us to fall into its gaping maw
Hungry to embrace us with nothingness
Day by day, we get shoved closer to this chasm while we can do nothing but watch
As we approach our final destination, the only variable is the time. All is out of our control.
Only when we realize, how much of our days we wasted, we are already falling into the pit.
Day by day, earth spins on its axis trying to shake us off, as we walk around, living a pitiful life.
For when we die, people might cry, But time is an eraser, and our tiny pencil marks are gone.
The only trace of us left a few scribbled lines, and occasionally a bloodline.
