Ashes
they tell me you can't smell memories
or raindrops
or the words that leave our lips
but
i can still smell your smile
like sunshine bouncing off lilac blossoms in the spring
and your anger
like cayan peppers sizzling on a grill
but ever since you left
a smell of ashes lingers
funny how, the smell of happiness escapes me
