A Difference in Energy

Around my friends I’m neon pink--
Screaming at the top of my lungs,
cracking jokes,
and sprinting barefoot down a winding road
With adults I’m pale blue--
Choosing my words,
being respectful,
and taking each step with extreme caution.
The color you see in me is the color I see in you.
