The Ground They Removed Me From
When I rise from the ground they buried me under,
Let me start not rebellion –
But resurrection.
Let my silenced voice start by whisper,
And grow into vigorous passion
As I walk, my feet will kiss the earth
As I speak, my legend will shake the ground;
And all the once muted will lift every voice with me,
Then let the ones who buried me alive
Shudder in fear; and the greatest coward amongst them all
Will perform their twisted idea of “bravery”
Let him wrap his hands around my lifeline,
And snap it in half.
Let me fall by murder.
Let me die because the voice they thought was
“Without importance”
Turned into something frighteningly revolutionary.
Yet sadly for them, I’ve left my footprints
On the very ground they tried so hard to remove me from.
Up above, let me hear down below;
“Dayna did this? I would have never known…”
