Clarity of My Voice
Let me make something clear;
I am not here to support
The innocence of your mind,
The fragility of your heart,
And the censorship in your life
I am not here to sugar coat the harsh,
Touch up the ugly,
And hide the tragedies
We are the next generation
Living in a world of never ending
Corruption, Lies, and Ignorance
Yet those involved
Look down the sprouting branches
Of their family tree
And worry about our generation?
No. I am not saying to
Disregard what your elders have to say
I am saying to close your rose colored eyes
And look with your real eyes; realize
That the monsters of our world are the people
And the saviors of our lives are the youth;
And the time to of recognition is now.
Or America, “The Land of the Free”
Will forever be an irony.
