Words
I feel it like my own heartbeat
There one second, gone the next
I can feel it echoing throughout my soul
Travelling through each nerve ending
Spreading throughout my body
I can sense it behind my eyes scrolling like a lit display in the twilight
Begging for attention
Begging to be seen
Stabbing forcefully into my ears
Wrapping itself around my brain
Constricting and claustrophobic in my skull
Poisoning my tongue as it sits, waiting to be spoken
I open my mouth, but it squats in the back of my throat
Choking off the air and the noise
A silent scream, I am frozen
I feel it rise like vomit
And like a volcano I’ll spew every thought every secret
From my throat, of its own will
I say “I love you”
