My Shadow
Standing beneath the glistening blue sky
Sun’s rays basking my body in her golden light
Warmth piercing my skin heating me throughout my body
The heat pulsing into my core
Heating it to the point of going supernova
I embrace the light and warmth
Looking down beside my feet
There the black form that is my shadow
Where ever I go he follows me
Always there, following, stalking
Whether displaying his presence, or concealing himself among the shadows of others
Together we always are, connected as one being
I pay him no heed
While he bides his time, waiting, waiting
For the day that we may exchange places
Where he becomes the controller
And I become the one who blindly follows.
