Evolution
You sit on your gilded throne
Waving a scepter of false intelligence
Boasting of your power
I wait in my cage
Eyes narrowed incredulously
At the lies concealed beneath your masquerade
The city you live in mirrors the barbaric nature
You think yourself above
I silently scoff at
This childish notion you have
Of dominance over all
For you have sunk
To your lowest form
By attempting to rise above
Religion
Murder
Weapons
Pollution
They are all your creations
Despite the universe pleading
For the pain to cease
And return to its natural circle
Of life and harmony
And now you turn on yourselves
Molding sisters into scapegoats
Eradicating those you once called friend
Order converting to chaos
As you sit on your peeling throne
The ugly interior begins to bleed out
And when it does
I will be there
Because we are the same
All locked in the cage of our own pretension
And we all fall
Subjects to death
When we realize
That power
Is just a myth
