I'm From
I’m from rural towns
I’m from broken homes
I’m from torn families
I’m from anger and screams
I’m from loneliness
I’m from constant travels and running away.
Tears tend to fall as simple as a spring shower
I’m from many questions unanswered
I’m from hopes and dreams shot down by a bullet
I’m from struggles and sorrows
I’m from within oneself
I’m from carelessness to doubtful
I’m from sadness looking down on me
always leaving, never trusting, a stray animal.
I’m from unfortunate role models
I’m from ashes and dust scattered all over
I’m from smoke drifting so elegantly in the air
I’m from challenges that have been defeated
I’m from the comfort of laying awake in a warm bed at night
I’m from those who choose to be stubborn
I’m from sacrifices
I am from hope to hopeless
I am from the moment of silence when lost in thoughts
I’m from the sweet smell of dew on the grass at dawn
I’m from bright open blue skies that appear dark and dreary,
depending on one’s point of view.
I am from healed wounds.
I am from the melody of sadness and lost wishes.
I’m from the song that whispers in the wind
Yet, i’m from love and few who care
few who understand
and only few who accept
I’m from overpowering my fears and bravery
I’m from simple to complex
I’m from many places
Yet, I am from nowhere at all.
