Summertime
The winter months,
They pass us by.
And all we can think of
Is sweet summertime.
The wind howls,
The grass loses color.
Instead of a shining sun,
All we see are clouds.
But soon the showers come,
And we all stare in amazement
As the grass turns from brown
To a vibrant, beautiful green.
The sun comes out
And warms the waters.
The children run outside
Skipping and singing
About how summer
Is finally here.
They swim and the play
And laugh all day.
And the next three months
Are spent with great relaxation
And wonderful ease.
Summer, sweet summer
