The Presentation
You majestic piece of wood that is always by my side,
Never leaving me,
Always here when I want you… and when I don’t,
You optimistic… piece of crap,
How I hate you for pushing me,
Pushing me to be the best me,
I despise your sleek figure
How perfect you are,
Forever getting smaller as these words spew onto this paper,
I know soon you will be gone, but look…
Look at all the legacies you’ve left behind,
Your presence here makes the magic happen,
If you weren’t who would write this?
How would THIS even exist?
So here’s to your agility
To your stamina and quick strikes
Here’s to all your hard work and those long nights
And to all those surgeries you’ve been through
Here’s to all those papers you’ve had to chew through
So here’s to you, my poetic utensil
I’d never choose a pen, over my pencil.
Write on.
