How life works
You should learn that this life will hit you hard, in the face
Waits for you to get up just so it can kick you in the stomach,
But getting the wind knocked out of you is the only way to remind your lungs how much they like the taste of air
There will always hurt, hurt that cannot be fixed by Band-Aids
Once you realize that a hero isn't coming to rescue you
Someone will let you know you don't have to wear the cape by yourself
Because no matter how much you try to catch all the pain,
Your hands will be too small and you'll end up with blisters and bruises
There are days when you want to fly and save people
But those people are the ones standing on your cape
And you will be filled up with water
But those days are the ones you need to say thank you fir
No matter how many landmines erupt in a minute
Make sure your mind lands in a funny place we call life
