Her Escape
Long ago she had fallen from the sky
An angel with white feathers and a loving heart
Filled with curiosity
The angel dove into our world in pursuit of beauty
But our world broke her
Ripping her wings and breaking her heart
Stranding the angel on our dying earth
For years she waited for her wings to heal
But they never did
Finally when she couldn't take the despair any longer
The angel did the only thing she could
Salty tears ran down her face
Her once lively eyes now empty
Shaking uncontrollably
The knife trembled in her hands
All she could see was the darkness creeping up on her
Screams of the lost and broken echoed all around her
Filling her ears with hate
And her eyes with pain
When she plunged the knife in
The winds screamed for her
The sky cried for her
Because her brothers and sisters could feel her hopelessness
But the beautiful angel only smiled
She was going home
