Panthera tigris tigris

Slinking in the shadows
with glowing emerald eyes,
the sovereign beast lurks with the fiend.

The ruler of its domain,
it roams the jungle,
striking without mercy.

Springing out of the falling light,
a rippling mass of muscle,
an orange and black flash delivering death.

An assassin
silently yet savagely takes its prize.
Fearing nothing but its own demise.

Looking up, it senses a presence…

(Snap,Snap,Snap!)

Dodging,weaving,jumping…

Roaring in pain,
the king of beasts falls.
An ominous silence falls over the jungle.

Concealed in the shadow that is its friend
a gleaming, cold, metal clamp-
a hunter's trap.

The beast feels a brief flash of pain
and then...nothing.
