Mirror, Mirror
In the mirror
that face she wakes to
every morning
devoid of makeup
brimming with imperfections
Her dresser
filled with bottles and tubes of
chemical magic
hair tools lay about
maxing each outlet.
She uses all of it.
The mirror now shows a
different face
not her face
something she has created
She looks at it with pride
then notices
the rest of her
her momentary triumph
is crushed
Mirror, mirror on the wall
when will she be
good enough for you
Never
