Alone in the rain
Alas I sit, all alone in the rain,
where I dream and I pray and I ponder my pain.
My worries become silent and my soul is set free.
There’s no act to put on, my true self I can be.
Right here in the rain by myself once again.
Not a care in the world and no tears to be shed.
I clear my mind and take in the fresh midnight breeze.
I know that right now I must go as I please.
If I wish to soar like a bird through the sky,
I must skip, I must leap as life passes me by.
If my wish is to rule the whole world,
I’ll rein over my kingdom and build up my stronghold.
I’m the captain of my destiny, and my life is my ship.
I’ll let the sea take me wherever its wish.
There’s adventure to be had a new story to unfold.
Today’s just a chapter down life’s long winding road.
As I awake from my day dream all alone in the rain,
I know I must leave as the night becomes day.
I’ve spent a good time here, my once clouded thoughts cleared,
but I don’t wish to leave my safe haven here.
As I walk slowly back to life’s normal despair,
I think of my time in my nook just down there.
I know that true pain and torture await, and I know there will be nights I lay sadly awake
I know that not ever dream will come true, but I pray for my time in the rain to come soon.
