A Year in the Pond
Crisp, sweet smell.
Billions of colors
float above
bark.
Birds and squirrels
scurry through
magnificent autumn.
Soon, the air chills.
Mother Nature erases
the leaves
and blankets the trees with snow.
Using a white colored pencil,
she draws in winter.
Green sprouts the land.
Flowers and trees bud
with beauty.
Animals once again
peep out in spring.
Light air thickens and
the beach whispers persuasively,
to come see his sun, ocean, sand.
Insects invade hills,
prancing in summer
Suddenly,
the crispness returns.
Green disappears
into yellow, orange, red.
Critters rush around
in search for food.
The circle of seasons.
