Hurting Memories
Brushing the knife against my skin
not letting it cut me just yet.
I remember the things that I've done
And the pain that you've bung.
I whisper in the dark
I pray but no one will hear
A tear falls down from my face
And a memory comes to mind
She was my best friend
She was like my sister
We were happy together
Until another came along.
You then came
and I thought I loved
She then changed
and was torn apart.
I never cried
I only sang
Singing my song of sorrows and pain.
It may not make any sense
It may not be worth the breath
But I'm telling you this
You hurt me and I forgave you
Again, again, again
I cut away my heart's pain.
Blood washes away the memory for the night
and I down another bottle.
Hush now, quiet now
Its time to lay your sleepy head
Dream now, sleep now
its time to go to bed...
