Birds
I compared the people talking around me to birds
calling, screaming, flying into no destination
I was a bird
no nest, no eggs, just a never knowing destination
I saw you across the bar
drunkenly telling jokes to the bar tender
I saw your eyes so full of life and wonder lust
the idea of you was so inviting, I needed to feel
I needed to feel your words touching me
because I was not lonely in a crowded room
I was lonely because when people touched me
I felt nothing
And when I looked at you I never felt ore alive
that the idea of falling into the void blindly
only made me want to fly
