Consider This
Staring out the cloudy, scratched windows
Sinking deep into the abyss of yourself
Trying not to drown in your own
Thoughts
--
Hearing the faint voices
Whispering-
Look around,
No one else can hear them-
Slowly growing louder
And stronger,
Overtaking the fortress
Where your collection of
Lost shadows roam
Close your eyes-
See them
Searching for themselves
In the box soaked with
The screams and cries
Of the others;
Their souls sucked dry
And left to float
Aimlessly with those
We've left behind
--
Then again,
Maybe it's all in your head;
No one else hears them,
It's just you and the voices
In a giant world
