Handicapped Words
Oh listen, you chaps!
Oh, lend an ear to my word!
I am the voice
Of the old and the forgotten
I am the utter
of the weak and the powerless
I am the frustration
Of the deaf and the dumb.
I am, like any other surviving organism
Present in this world.
I do have a right,
to be remembered and cherished
To be cared and looked after
to speak and to be heard.
For whenever in this world, I lose my right,
I lose my existence.
People spoke to me
when I was young and new
Now, I lie under a pile of dust
My yellowed pages cry to sing the imbibed.
Oh this worldly world!
Don’t you have space for me and alike?
I need all that you need
I do all what you do
I am, like any other surviving organism
Present in this world.
Am I not???
