Drowning
Sometimes it just hurts so much,
Too much to breathe.
Sometimes I feel the pent up anger,
Pulling at me and enticing me to give up.
Sometimes I can't feel my heart,
Because it is slowly breaking.
Sometimes the hunger to be loved pulls,
And yet no one is there to hold me.
Sometimes I'm not there,
But people talk to me like I am.
Sometimes I'm drowning,
But everyone around me is breathing fine.
The water crashes over me,
But I can't get to the surface.
I'm screaming in the middle of a crowd,
But no one hears a thing.
Because they don't care enough,
They don't want to hear the problems
That aren't their own.
If I saw someone drowning,
Would I risk myself to save them?
