fading memories
Fading memories pass through time,
Every one hurts worse than the last,
I know I shouldn’t even want to give you a dime,
But even as I say my memories fade to past,
You still give me a case of the chills,
I know its oh-so wrong to feel this way,
Every time you say passion kills,
Each and every single day,
I try to keep from going under,
You try to keep me in the dark,
You try to keep me in deep slumber,
I know your life isn’t a walk in the park,
But even though you say you hate it,
I know you don’t because it makes you smile,
I feel like I’m falling into a passion-filled pit,
You tried to hide but it’s not worth your while,
I never wanted you to say good-bye to me,
And even as I say it doesn’t hurt I know you know,
I still love you don’t you see,
You always told me that the answer is no,
But you keep this smile that makes me believe,
That we can get through this,
You say I’m too naïve,
But you still capture me with every kiss.
