Picket Fences
We all have our fences,
this way we can hide the pain.
All the cracks that run deep,
are hidden,
masked,
ignored.
On the outside is a white picket fence,
painted everyday to cover the bruises.
The fences wrap around your neck.
You're choking,
gasping,
dying.
So open up the gates someday.
Let all the air back in.
Super glue the cracks,
and fill,
rebuild,
breathe.
Realize that you are not alone.
We all have our fences.
With time the cracks will be
going,
going,
gone.
