A Swallows Spiritless Society
I once flew free over this insignificant world,
my paradise, my haven, from here and yonder,
the grass was velvet, an untainted carpet provided by Mother Nature’s generosity,
the eternal sky caressed me, for I was free,
the air was like a mothers comfort; its sweet breeze protected me from the abomination that could destroy me,
But it came, as it would always have come...
They advanced with their bulldozers and their guns,
with their malevolent society that obliterates innocence,
the sky has become a beast, the clouds close in as I strive to acheive,
The silence is deadly.
It is filled with the screams of those who struggle to live in this cloying life,
How was I so naive?
for how can you live, when you are consumed by the endeavour for perfection?
The swallow becomes a phoenix, an ember aglow, as it delves deeper, deeper into the depths of the abyss to which it will go,
Society has killed the swallow.

This was one of those poems that you write when its three in the morning and you cant get to sleep. Its about all the effect of society and pressure on people and that you can never be perfect, as much as you may want to be.
