I wanted to show you the ones that are affected, the ones unseen and the ones misfortuned. The ones bombed, mortared, shot. All without a heart to care.

I wanted to show you the innocent that pay the price. The young that are shoved into combat neither listed nor bonded to a draft. I wanted to show you the children of war.

I wanted to show you the lives that have been demolished by the tools of war. The lives that must endure challenges easily avoided by peace. The lives shattered by the choice you made.

I wanted to show you what the war has done, Who the war has burdened, How the war has splattered blood stains on humanity never to be cleaned.

I wanted to show you the truth.

After Reading a novel on the Vietnam War, I gained inspiration to create this piece.
