My Spark
Bright sunny skies,
Dark, dreary lies.
The glossy moonlight,
Oh, it shines so bright!
Sugar maple leaves on trees,
Gentle autumn breeze.
As the rain grows loud,
I make wishes upon the pastel clouds.
As the night grows dark,
And time runs dry,
In the interminable dusk I see a spark,
But it quickly waves goodbye.
I thought it meant to stay.
Maybe just not today.
