The Alone Trail
She walked alone
The only sound was her heart beat
And her mind, racing like a horse on a track
And her breathing, forced to be steady
The path was dark
The only sight was an unlit trail
With no ending
And no beginning
It was neither cold nor hot
There was no breeze
There were no clouds
No peaceful snow, or howling rain
She walked alone
On a dark path, with no one around
And then she opened her eyes
She was just in her mind
