i sat there waiting

i thought about my evening
as my ruffled dress waved in the wind

watched the children zip on their scooters

chasing behind a ferocious father
scared out of his beejezles

they were filled with determination

he skippered away pink-panther-style

the mother strutted as if she were walking in a high class fashion show

a plump and stuby woman

glamorous hair with bejeweled eyes
and large webbed hands

i laughed seeing the discombobulated family

all different sizes but strangely related
they beamed with smiles

but then he came
